Hello! I'm Meridith LaVelle. I am an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow at the University of Mannheim.

In August 2025, I earned my PhD in Political Science and International Affairs at the University of Georgia. My primary research interests include tech and politics, political violence, human rights, political economy, and quantitative research methods. I am the Digital Rights Lead at the Human Rights Measurement Initiative (HRMI) and am part of the Civil and Political Rights Team.  I am also on the Advocacy Team with Digihubs Africa.
